Concessions
Concessions are available on many TAFE Open Learning courses. You may be eligible for a concession if you are:
-
a Centrelink Health Care / Benefit / Pension Card holder
-
a Department of Veterans Affairs Pension Card holder (blue card)
-
under the age of 17 years on 28 February of the year of study and have not completed Year 12 (a birth certificate is required to be eligible for this concession)
-
an Australian Aborigine and/or Torres Strait Islander.
Important information
-
Concessions are not available on fee for service courses.
-
It is your responsibility to check your concession card eligibility with Centrelink before you enrol.
-
Written evidence may be required for age or other concessions.
Concessions must be applied for at the time of enrolment - no fee adjustments can be made after your enrolment is complete.
Course fee types (in relation to concessions)
Within TAFE Queensland, there are two types of fee structures: fee for service and Government funded courses.
Government funded courses
Many courses are largely funded by the Government and the fees charged to students are only a very small part of the total cost. Government funded courses are available to Queensland residents only.
Please note: If you're living outside of Queensland at the time of enrolment or for more than 6 months, you are not eligible for any fee concessions and the full fee for service rates apply
Fee for service programs
A fee for service program is not funded by the Government, and therefore no fee exemptions or concessions are available.
