Centrelink allowances
For full-time study
Centrelink has approved a number of TAFE Open Learning courses. If you intend to study at the prescribed full-time rate and meet other eligibility requirements, Centrelink may pay you an allowance.
To be paid a Centrelink allowance for your study, you must ensure that:
- before enrolling, you have confirmed with Centrelink that you are entitled to any workload concession
- your chosen course is approved by Centrelink
- you enrol in the prescribed workload for the semester
- you submit all the required assessments
- you check if you are eligible for the Pensioner Education Supplement.
If you do not meet your study commitments while in receipt of Centrelink allowances, you may be required to repay all the allowance paid to you for that period. Centrelink conducts regular checks on your work performance.
